- Choose a yearly repeat for a recurring birthday. Review the displayed next occurrence so the countdown points to the right year.
- Set reminders around actual preparation time: buying a gift, posting a card, or booking a table. Choose the options available in your version of the app.
- Add a widget to keep the date nearby. After this year’s birthday, check the next occurrence rather than creating a duplicate every year.

For a February 29 birthday, check how the repeat is handled in a non-leap year and adjust the celebration date to match your own preference.
