Set it up, step by step
- Choose the date your pet actually joined your home. If you know their birthday too, keep it as a separate event so the two memories stay distinct.
- Open Daystreak, create an event, and give it a personal name such as “Milo came home.” Set the start date to the adoption day.
- Choose an icon and a theme that feel like them. If you use a photo background, pick a picture where the date and number remain easy to read; custom photos require Premium.
- Put the counter on your Home Screen with a widget. When a meaningful milestone arrives, make a share card or simply enjoy noticing it.
Make it work for your everyday
A gotcha day is the anniversary of joining your family, not necessarily a birthday. An estimated birthday and a known adoption date can both matter without being the same thing.
A days-since counter records elapsed time. It is a keepsake, not a pet-care schedule. Keep vaccinations, prescriptions and appointments in the appropriate calendar or care record.
